Closure of Kiteezi Landfill
Kiteezi Landfill started operations in 1996 and was upgraded to an engineered facility in 2001. The landfill is located in Lusanja village, Kiteezi Parish of Nangabo Sub-county in Wakiso District, 14 km North of Kampala City. Owned by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Kiteezi Landfill was until now Uganda's largest and only sanitary engineered landfill in Uganda.
